The story begins not with a solo album, but with a duo. In 1974, Zé Ramalho joined forces with Lula Côrtes to create the cult masterpiece Paêbirú . Recorded with hallucinogenic experiments and studio improvisation, this double album (whose title means "path of the sun" in Tupi-Guarani) is a relic of Brazil’s tropicalia hangover.
