Popcorn, a group of friends ready to whistle at SRK’s entry, and the willingness to ignore 2007-era VFX. “Om Shanti Om... picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost.” (The movie isn’t over yet, my friend.)

Om Prakash Makhija (Shah Rukh Khan) is a junior artist with stars in his eyes and undying love for the reigning superstar Shantipriya (Deepika Padukone). This portion is hilarious, heartfelt, and full of underdog charm. Om’s antics on sets, his friendship with Pappu Master (Shreyas Talpade), and his iconic mother (Kirron Kher) provide lighthearted comedy.

After a tragic betrayal and death, Om is reincarnated as the superstar Om Kapoor (aka OK). He suffers from hazy memories of his past life and plots revenge against the arrogant producer Mukesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal) who murdered him and Shantipriya. This half is pure masala — dramatic, over-the-top, and deeply satisfying.
