::The Problem:. ::Your Solution:.
You have a digital photograph, or a scanned image, or a drawing that looks plain and simple, which was scanned or otherwise captured into a file, and you are now ready for editing.

You need to turn it into a work of art that appears like it was sketched by hand, drawn or painted. You want to see bristles.

But you have no patience whatsoever and your little sister says you're a geek and have zero talent for drawing.

Unfortunately you  know she's partly wrong... you actually have less than zero talent! When you as much as touch a pencil and paper, it catches on fire!

:::::What is Gertrudis Pro?:.
::: Gertrudis Pro
Gertrudis Pro is a program for the PC which lets you transform images into handmade drawings. The brushstrokes of the drawings can simulate watercolor, oil painting, crayon, and a variety of other styles. You can also define your own styles. As internally Gertrudis knows the path, color, width and style of each brushstroke, the drawing can be rendered at the desired resolution. So once the drawing is done, you generate the result to the resolution that you want, achieving fine details in each brushstrokes.
::: How to use it
When you load an image into Gertrudis Pro it will show two panels: the left one will show the original image and the other will show the resulting, modified image. When you first start,  the right panel will show a blank white image. As the drawing tools are applied, the resulting drawing will be appearing in the right panel.

You can 'brush' your strokes over the original to the left or directly on the black to the right side.

:::::New Features from Gertrudis Pro 3:

What's New In Gertrudis Pro 3.0?

  • Wacom Tablet Support
  • Custom Background
  • 3D Brushes
  • Full screen paint
  • Better color accuracy and enhanced stroke rendering algorithm.

:: Differences between the Standalone and the Dogwaffle-Plugin version:.

.:Plugin Version:
  • the plugin version only sends and receives images through the Dogwaffle connection. No file saving or importing; no saving to PostScript. But you can send the resulting artwork to either the main or the swap buffer.
  • the plugin version is significantly lower cost.
.:Standalone Version:
  • The standalone version can load images from many file formats and save to JPEG, BMP and TIFF and  also to PostScript format.
  • The standalone edition can re-render and save at different sizes.This is very important for desktop publishing because there you need high resolution bitmaps. After creating your image on the screen at screen resolution, you can have it re-rendered to a higher resolution. This gives much more detail in the larger image than if you had simply resized/resampled the prior bitmap.
  • The standalone version has options to Load/Save Project in Gertrudis native format.
  • The standalone version has an option to "Apply All" (Apply the current tool around the whole image selecting random seeds), this tool saves time especially if you have a particulkar set of parameters which you want to apply to many images, perhaps from an animation sequence.

:::::New Features from Gertrudis Pro 2.2:
  • new shortcut key: F11 = Full Screen Preview
  • Navigator Window, a new feature which lets you view the entire image. Also it is possible to choose the work area by dragging the red rectangle in the Navigator Window. This option is useful for large images.
  • entering numeric values: All parameters can be set using the keyboard. This change is made because some users have said that it was difficult to choose precise values.
  • Clipboard Support:
    • Ctrl+C ..... copies the current result to Clipboard.
    • Ctrl+Alt+N ... creates a new project based on the image in the clipboard.

I--- Kingpouge Laika 12 - 78 Photos Photography By Hiromi

That is the final trick of Kingpouge Laika . It is not an essay about photographs. It is an essay about the desire to see them. Hiromi has given us nothing but a title, and in that title, we have built an entire universe of stray dogs, tarot cards, and midnight streets.

However, interpreting this as a creative prompt or an artistic fragment, I have written the following essay based on the feeling and structure of those words. Consider this a meditation on the themes your title evokes: anonymity, the number 78, the name “Hiromi,” and the act of photographic sequencing. By an observer of light i--- Kingpouge Laika 12 78 Photos Photography By Hiromi

The title fragment reads like a password forgotten mid-keystroke: i--- Kingpouge Laika 12 78 . The three dashes are a stutter, a redaction, or a placeholder for a verb that never arrived. “I am…” “I see…” “I shot…” The pronoun remains incomplete, as if the photographer—Hiromi—has stepped behind the camera so completely that the self has dissolved into aperture. “Kingpouge” does not translate. It might be a transliteration of a Japanese punk band (King Pogue?), a misspelling of “Kingpodge” (a slurry of royalty and clay), or simply a unique handle. “Laika” is the more resonant ghost. Laika was the Soviet space dog, the first living creature to orbit Earth, sent on a one-way trip in Sputnik 2. She is the patron saint of stray animals and doomed experiments. To include “Laika” in a photographic title is to invoke the gaze of something that looked down at the world knowing it would never return. It is a photography of mortality. The Number 78: The Almost-Full Deck In tarot, a standard deck is 78 cards. The Fool’s journey from 0 to XXI. This is crucial. A photography collection with 78 images is not an exhibition; it is a reading . Hiromi is not documenting. Hiromi is dealing. Each photograph becomes a card: The Tower (a collapsing building), The Star (a puddle reflecting neon), The Hanged Man (a dancer suspended mid-leap). We, the viewers, are the querents. We look at the 78 photos and ask: What is my fate? Photography By Hiromi The name Hiromi is androgynous in Japanese, meaning “generous beauty” or “wide sea.” It is a name that holds expanse. Yet the work here— Kingpouge Laika —is claustrophobic. One imagines Hiromi working at night, using a flash that flattens faces against brick walls. The photos are probably high-contrast, grainy, obsessed with the backs of heads, empty chairs, and the wet asphalt after a summer storm. They are photos taken by someone who has listened to too much drone music and watched too many Wim Wenders films. The Missing 79th We do not have the photos. Perhaps they were lost when a hard drive crashed. Perhaps they exist only as thumbnails on a forgotten Flickr account from 2008. Or perhaps the “78” is a lie; there are only 77, and the 78th is the space behind your own eyes as you read this. That is the final trick of Kingpouge Laika

There is a specific kind of loneliness found only in a folder named “78 Photos.” It is not the loneliness of emptiness, but of sequence. The number 78 is awkward—too many for a concise magazine spread, too few for a retrospective. It is the number of a contact sheet, the raw yield of a single roll of 120 medium format film (roughly 15 frames) multiplied by five. It suggests intention without closure. Hiromi has given us nothing but a title,

If you can provide more context about the specific photos or the artist Hiromi, I would be happy to write a factual, descriptive essay about the actual work.

The “i---” at the beginning? That was never an error. It was a shutter click. The sound of a camera deciding that some things should remain almost-seen.
