The human characters are thin. William H. Macy and Téa Leoni play divorced parents searching for their lost son, but their bickering grows tiresome. The plot is essentially a chase sequence stretched to 90 minutes – fun in the moment, but forgettable afterward. There’s none of the wonder or moral complexity of the original.
