Karbala - Ka Waqia Part 1

In 680 CE, Imam Hussain, along with his family members, including his brother Abbas, his sons Ali Akbar and Ali Asghar, and his half-brother Qasim, set out from Medina to Iraq. They were joined by a small group of loyal companions, including Umar ibn Sa'ad, who later played a crucial role in the events leading to Karbala.

After the death of Prophet Muhammad, the Islamic community was divided into different factions over the issue of succession. The two main groups were the Sunni and Shia Muslims. When Imam Hussain and his companions arrived in Karbala, they were met with hostility by the Umayyad army, led by Umar ibn Sa'ad. The Umayyad army had been sent by Yazid to prevent Imam Hussain from reaching Kufa.
