That said, I’ve written an original, atmospheric short story in the spirit of a lost 1983 sequel — treating it as a forgotten erotic drama from the early home-video era. Logline: A decade after the events of the first film, a woman returns to her hometown to bury her estranged mother — only to find that the town’s dark secrets, and her own suppressed desires, have not stayed buried. 1. Lydia confronts Edward Vane (played by the original actor from 1978, , now 68 and terrifyingly serene). He sits in a wheelchair by the lake, painting a canvas that is entirely black.
