It’s a stunning power move. For 30 chapters, Yotsuba has been the shy, reactive wallflower. Here, she steps up and says, "I don’t care if it’s the clover or my own heart. I choose you." It’s raw, it’s messy, and it’s the most satisfying payoff for her character arc so far. Just when you think we’re heading into a fluffy dating arc, Chapter 31 throws a wrench into the gears. The last panel cuts to a hospital room where a character we thought was dead (Ren’s older brother, Kazuki) opens his eyes. If you’ve just finished reading Kimi wa Yotsuba

But something is wrong. His eyes are the same shade of ominous gold as the "Cursed Clover" from the legend.
(Deducted half a point because that hospital scene gave me nightmares.)
