PAL VHS (Video Home System)

The second feature film based on the hit Nickelodeon animated series, Rugrats in Paris follows the Pickles family and their friends as they travel to EuroReptarland, a theme park in Paris. While the adults attend a robotics convention, Chuckie struggles with the absence of his late mother and longs for a new mum. The plot thickens when Chuckie’s father, Chas, falls for the park’s scheming manager, Coco LaBouche, leading to a wedding that the babies must stop.

Out of print since the early 2000s. The film is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital platforms, but the original UK VHS is sought after by retro collectors and fans of physical media.

Unlike the US VHS, which sometimes included a different promotional trailer lineup or a “Nick Jr.” bumper, the UK release used PAL formatting (higher resolution and faster frame rate than NTSC). Additionally, the UK tape omitted the US-only “Rugrats: All Grown Up” preview that appeared on later pressings.

Paramount Home Entertainment (UK)

The UK VHS of Rugrats in Paris remains a collectible item for Nickelodeon nostalgia enthusiasts. It was one of the last major Rugrats releases before the shift to DVD became dominant in the mid-2000s. Many UK viewers remember the tape for its inclusion of the music video for “Who Let the Dogs Out?” by Baha Men during the end credits – a cultural touchstone of the era.
