“He’s not leaving forever,” Ken-chan sniffled. “He’s just… flawlessly exiting stage left.”

He caught a low-hanging cherry tree branch, swung once, and landed on the roof of the departing bus. The bus pulled away. The students watched, weeping and laughing. Sakamoto didn’t wave.
